Keeping up the Momentum!

Whew!  What a weekend!  I found myself doing other activities that really wore me out!  My husband and I volunteered at our kids school to help out with their Walk-A-Thon.  What we did was help pass out the lap sticks and the popsicles AND DANCE!  We signed up to just do three half-hour shifts, but ended up doing it for 5 hours!  It was awesome!  Our kids did great and we loved it!  So after standing for 5 hours, I was able to do a mini-workout and did two miles.  It was tough, but I did it!

Saturday was just as fun, we were outside walking all over downtown!  We walked for four hours and it was crazy!  The coolest part is I saw the preparations for the OKC Memorial Marathon---which is my goal to run next year---more motivation for me to continue this journey to a better and healthy lifestyle!

Sunday, I took a break and rested.  It was well needed but the craziest part is, I wanted to run!  I listened to my body (and my schedule) and rested.  Monday came along and I did my yoga in the morning and I get this, I mowed the lawn, pulled the weeds and edged!  I'm sure you're thinking, that's not a workout!  Well, honestly, if you saw my lawn (the grass was passed my ankles and the crab grass was up to my knees!) you'd know that it was a workout!  I honestly was out there for two hours walking up and down pushing the lawn mower.  BUT what I did was do lunges while I mowed the lawn!  See, I incorporated exercise in yard work!  I lost count on how many lunges I did and my husband just watched me and said, "You're going to be hurting.  But good job on the lunges!  BTW, the lawn looks awesome!"  He's awesome!

Today, I was busy with the kids and wanted to go to bed early BUT I opted to workout!  I was dreading the four miles I needed to do but I DID it!  My body feels great and I am slimming down slowly, but surely!  As of today, I am down 10 lbs and I know that I can keep this up!

Keeping up the momentum and knocking the weight off,
Vida :)

Eye Opener

Today was a total eye opener for me.  I realized how much I missed running and can't get enough of it.  Earlier today I ran two miles, my plan was to run a total of four miles to keep me on track for my training.  After running this morning, I did my errands and did my stuff around the house.

Now, let me tell you, this is hard for me since I haven't ran in SO LONG.  So after getting the house settled and kids in bed, I started my run.  My intention was to run my remaining two miles...I ran and ran...and ran a total of 3.5 miles, making my total miles for today 5.5!!!  I burned a total of 578 calories and totally stolked!

I know it's hard making that time to exercise and get up.  I know it's hard to not snack on a twinkie or chips.  I know it's hard to not drink soda.  But I know my health is more important, so instead of getting up to get a twinkie, chips and drink, walk over to your tennis shoes, put them on and walk for 30 minutes.

I had a 170 lbs of excuses to not do this, no I have 162 lbs of excuses to do this.  Take this small challenge and let me know how you do.  Join me on my journey.  If I can do it, you can to!

All my best and just do it,
Vida :)

My journey back to healthy...

It's been three years since I've blogged and it's time to reconnect with my friends (old and new). For those who do not know me, let me introduce myself. I'm Vida (pronounced vee-duh) a mother of four, a devoted wife to a wonderful husband, student, photographer and a woman battling weight loss.

Wow..."a woman battling weight loss". What a statement huh? Well, it's true. I am not one to sugar coat anything and in all honesty, I am overweight. I cannot lie to myself and must face the fact that I have not been taking care of myself like I used to. It's time I start taking care of myself (and you should too!).

What am I doing to get back to healthy? I'm running, eating right and using my CieAura Weight Management System (CWMS). What's CieAura WMS? Go here. My friend Ryan introduced this to me and I was a skeptic. But once I started following it and using it, I started to see the difference.

When I finally decided to do the CWMS, I weighed myself and heard the scale say, "GET ON THE CWMS TODAY!" No, really it was an eye opener for me and I am 5'2" and my weight was 170lbs. I had not seen that weight since I was pregnant with my son! Two weeks later, I am at 162lbs and lost two inches on my waist. That may not be much, but it's a start. Some people reading this will be skeptics, but honestly, this by far has been more effective than the ones I have tried. I don't drink all the shakes and all the supplements. I scaled back on my eating and have followed the recommended foods in the manual.

I have set my eight week goal to lose at least 15lbs. My ultimate goal is to lose 50lbs. Anything above those marks are a plus :). I am not expecting it to drop off quickly, but the ultimate goal is to have PERMANENT RESULTS.

So please join me on my journey and let me know how you're doing. I will post a before and after photo so you can see the difference. I am excited and scared at the same time. But I KNOW I can do this.

Be well and live it,
Vida :)
